ALERT TO A FOOD FRAUD ACTIVITY
The Food Standards Agency and police are warning food companies to be on the alert to a fraud that may have affected a number of food businesses across UK. The fraud, which involves identity theft, could result in unsafe food being offered for sale.

PETER MAKES TRACEABILITY RECOMMENDATIONS TO EC
A series of strong recommendations to improve the implementation and effectiveness of traceability in the food supply chain has been made to the European Commission by the EU Framework 6 PETER project which held its final conference in Malaga in April.

4TH TRACE CONFERENCE: A BIG SUCCESS
The recent TRACE conference that took place in Spain was a big success with nearly 170 people attending the 1.5 day meeting. Representatives from the food industry, regulatory bodies, academia, SME's and consumer organisations attended the "Lost without TRACE" conference. The workshop "TRACEFood Framework and TraceCore XML", the scientific session on analytical techniques and the PETER session attracted people from many European and non European countries. The lectures and posters are available on the TRACE website.
